What is your favorite type of art to create?

I love creating intuitive acrylic paintings inspired by nature, where colour, interlocking forms, and movement become a study in connection and wonder. I’m drawn to exploring the subtle relationships between living things, often balancing playful composition with deeper themes of belonging, curiosity and place. My work is a collaboration with inspiration, inviting moments of discovery and encouraging people to pause, look closer and feel a sense of wonder.

Where do you find inspiration?

I find inspiration in the small magic hiding in plain sight, shifting light on water, wind moving through grasses, mountain weather, birds with oversized personalities, road trips, river stones and the playful patterns nature keeps repeating. I love how light and wind can feel almost mischievous, always changing the scene. Inspiration often arrives through observation, curiosity and surprise and I think of making art as collaborating with those fleeting moments before they disappear.

What would you do with $25,000?

With $25,000, I would develop a solo exhibition inspired by the Boreal Forest, a love letter in paint to the biodiversity I call home. I’d create a body of work exploring birds, waterways, plant life and hidden interconnections, inviting people to see the ecosystem with wonder and care. Funding would support research, materials, studio time and exhibition development, helping bring attention to a rich and often overlooked landscape worth celebrating and protecting.
