Making art is a way for me to physically connect to the world around me. It is a privilege to be able to examine and reexamine life.

Receive Text UpdatesPaintings primarily but sculpture also. What is important for me is to convey the physics of human connection and movement.
Where do you find inspiration?Traveling between my home in Baja and Costa Mesa, CA I am constantly confronted with inspiration not only in nature but the people I meet. I am deeply inspired by movement, people moving, across borders, back and forth in kitchens and campuses, building and taking risks to progress. I am inspired by individual movements forward, and I try and capture that in my work. Physics and scientific exploration are also huge sources of awe and inspiration. I am startled and captured by many things.
What would you do with $25,000?Supplies to create more work. I would love the opportunity to continue working and building a practice that continues to welcome in my community. Any security I have as a creator I try and pay it forward to younger creators through workshops and open studio sessions. I would use the funds to continue doing everything I am currently doing, with gratitude.
