Art helps me bridge the gap between mental health and the tangible world. When talking about how I feel proves difficult, showing it isn’t.

My favorite type of art is traditional on paper. Growing up, I drew with simply the supplies provided by the school floor: broken crayons, partially dry markers, and scraps of paper. Accessibility is important to me, and art can be made by anyone with something as simple as a pencil and a sticky note.
Where do you find inspiration?I find my inspiration from natural, human anatomical expression. The human body is beautiful, and it expresses emotions such as love, pain, kindness, and security in gorgeous, unique ways. Artist Michelangelo captured this idea beautifully in his sculptures and paintings, who I admire and take inspiration from in my own artworks.
What would you do with $25,000?I would help support the LGBTQ+ community with medical expenses. As transgender myself, I understand the financial difficulties in gender-affirming care, and hope to one day assist others in their transition journey.
