I love creating art because it captures emotions you can't always put into words or actions, keeping them frozen forever.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
My favorite type of art to create is photographs of those closest to me, capturing them in their environments that reflect who they are in their natural state, where they feel most genuine. To me, photography is a way to hold onto emotions, memories, and real-life moments. that might otherwise fade with time.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in my environment every day. I find inspiration in my Mexican culture through its bright colors, rich textures, traditions, and sense of community. The warmth and emotion within my culture influence the way I create art. I also find inspiration in my family and the love they share with me. Their support and everyday moments motivate me to capture meaningful emotions and real connections through photography, turning memories and feelings into something lasting.
What would you do with $25,000?Winning this prize money would help me continue my education and work toward becoming a firefighter while supporting my passion for photography. Since my dad passed away a few years ago, my mom has been raising my sibling and me on her own. I rely on public transportation to get to school and opportunities because my mom cannot always take me. This money would help with college expenses, transportation, and the tools I need to continue growing and telling stories through my art.
