Abstract acrylic painting is my favorite because it's what helped me through a dark season and still does. Letting go, painting is how I process my feelings through color and movement. Just to go with the flow and love the act of making something. I also, sew, knit, crochet, and do any work through my hands and spirit.
Where do you find inspiration?Just watching a river's water flow to everyday moments all influence my work. I mostly find inspiration in hard to express emotions (art therapy), in the quiet and overwhelming moments of life. It lives in color, in nature, in light and darkness. My inspiration often comes from what I’m feeling but can’t fully express through words, and from the beauty that can still be found within struggle.
What would you do with $25,000?I want to create a community art event program my hometown. “Art in the Park” events that brings people and local artist together through creativity and healing through art. I would invite local artists and vendors, supporting small businesses, and offer free arts and crafts activities for families and youth. With live music, food, hands-on creation, and plenty of bubbles. Using art to uplift, inspire and strengthen our community, in hope that this event would bring joy, unity, and opportunity.
