“I create to honor Creator, Mother Earth, Native Indigenous P. and MMIW, turning grief and memory into living prayers.”We are all 1 people
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
“My favorite is to sing, I’m a singer! Next is mixed-media painting and drawing: layering paint, ink, and found objects to build moody scenes and powerful faces. I love turning trash and roadside scraps into ceremony—busted feeders, broken boards, anything forgotten becomes a witness to our stories and a way to honor Creator, Mother Earth, and Native Indigenous resilience.”
Where do you find inspiration?“I’m inspired by Native Indigenous ancestors, Creator, and Mother Earth. I paint to honor my people, remember and recover our MMIW, and turn grief and everyday life into ceremony. The land, my grandson’s future, and the small sacred moments in my yard keep pulling me back to the singing and the canvas.”
What would you do with $25,000?“With $25,000, I would create a real studio space in my attic. I’d set it up right and invest in art classes, especially oil painting, to grow my skills. This would give me a dedicated place to develop my music and vocals. As an artist expand the work I can offer my community.” I’d also offer a safe space for those that want to come enjoy and learn. No judgement! I will donate a portion to MMIW,MMIB, MMIP-2 spirited and The Arts! CREATIVITY CAN HEAL THE WORLD!
