My body of work rejects the conventional luxury narrative that jewelry exists to signal achievement, celebrate joy or commemorate perfection

Developing upon my own design language in precious metals and natural gemstones. Sharp edges, menacing silhouettes, substantial weight… I make timeless adornments intended to assist in expressing one’s self. Fine jewelry that stands far apart from mainstream monotony. My favorite art to make is that which no one else would be able to conceptually fathom, let alone execute.
Where do you find inspiration? As a teenager, riding BMX bikes was my first true calling. An unrelated accident led to a spine injury that ended my short-lived career as a pro athlete. BMX was my identity and community, and without it I was moping through life, lost & seeking new purpose. After attempting many different pivots, I discovered jewelry as a medium of artistic expression. My work is inspired by the physical and mental pain of the spine injury that changed my life over 10 years ago, and the resolve to push through.
What would you do with $25,000?Even half that would be life changing money for me…. Since I’m mostly self-taught as a jewelry maker, the first thing I’d do is attend a jewelry trade school in Rome for 3 months. Academia Dell’arte, specifically the Girardi diamond setting program, is something I’ve been wanting to do for many years. Honing and refining such difficult processes as micro-pavé and hand engraving would elevate my work and career by magnitudes. With remaining funds I would acquire a new microscope for my workbench
