Art is a collaboration between myself and my soul, with kindred spirits and allows for onlookers to escape the ordinary experiences in life.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
Metal and wood based sculpture while delighting in oxidization techniques with steel. Within the tempering process of painting with metals, the colorations heat exacts upon the surfaces and the alloys which burn off at different temperatures, often create an exotic image of abstraction with slight figurative suggestions are imprinted upon the metal. Then stippling industrial pixilations in rivets is usually how I finish the pieces. Combining these with photo-studies of textures complete a view.
Where do you find inspiration?Old decrepit and abandoned buildings or objects which seemingly have lost their value inspire the surface treatments. Nature with its random patterns driven by moisture and lack of sunlight have an epicurean effect which is tempting to mimic. Bodies in motion and muscular structures find their way into the field. Planets and nebulae, distant stars pixilated upon a skyline deep into the developing works. Tragic nature tend to inspire the pieces as well in understanding how vulnerable we are.
What would you do with $25,000?I’d dedicate 6 months to simply focusing on my art practice without worrying about bills.
