I create one-of-a-kind jewelry from wild ocean algae (kelp). Sculpted with self-developed techniques and tools.

Wearable and functional art from kelp: jewelry, lighting, and objects. I’m most interested in that moment when it stops looking like seaweed.
Where do you find inspiration?1. Seaweed itself. I spend a lot of time just looking at it, drying it, seeing how it changes. It keeps surprising me 2. Museums and art shows. Not for ideas, but to see how people react to objects and what makes them stop and look 3. That “no one really did this” feeling. It makes me feel like I’m figuring something out, not repeating something
What would you do with $25,000?1. $5,000 Ocean contribution supporting kelp-focused nonprofit restoration efforts 2. $5,000 Material research to advance my kelp preservation and transformation process 3. $5,000 Studio upgrade for tools, storage, and production quality 4. $5,000 Visual storytelling for video and content that captures the material’s tactile, unfamiliar nature 5. $5,000 Exhibitions & awards to place the work in the right cultural context
