I’ve always been drawn to it. It feels less like a decision and more like something I’m meant to keep returning to.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I focus on portrait work, but not just likeness. I’m interested in capturing presence and something beneath the surface. Some of my work leans into social commentary, using familiar imagery in unexpected ways, while other pieces explore more personal and surreal ideas.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in everyday moments. In conversations, quiet observations, and my own inner work. A lot of it comes from paying attention to people, to emotion, and to the subtle things we tend to overlook. Some of my ideas also come from dreams and moments of reflection where things don’t quite make logical sense but feel true.
What would you do with $25,000?I would use it to give myself time and space to focus fully on my work, covering living expenses while I build out a body of work and finish the courses I’ve started. I’d also invest in materials and documenting my process so I can share it more consistently and reach more people.
