I really adore making garments out of liquid silicone rubber. I have been experimenting with this versatile material for a decade now and I just love the freedom I have while working with it and also I feel that the possibilities are endless.
Where do you find inspiration?My primary inspiration is just everything that I feel, usually an era that I am currently going through, and when I think about the overwhelming nature of those feelings usually I get a clear visual, a "theme" around which I can build up my collections. For example, my most recent collection titled 'Under Pressure' represents a time in my life when I felt that my head was under water with a lot of challenges. From this I created pieces with an underwater theme.
What would you do with $25,000?I would like to keep my brand available to the public, for that reason I am currently present in Showrooms in New York and L.A.. This amount would cover around a year of the costs that I have, so that I can focus on creating more art, without worrying about the financials.
