Connect What is your favorite type of art to create?

I like to create art that reflects the wonder and beauty of our universe: Landscapes, Seascapes, Space and Galaxies, in appreciation of its appeal on our imagination and way of life, providing us human beings with an existence: sustaining our overall wellbeing, providing food and water, peace, and tranquility, all necessary for us to live healthy, productive lives. My goal is that the viewer feels uplifted and hopeful, as they encounter my work in their homes or other locales.

Where do you find inspiration?

My inspiration stems from cherished childhood experiences growing up in the Jamaican countryside. I fondly remember lying in tall grass, surrounded by swarms of butterflies, gazing at the clouds and vivid blue skies, captivated by the hills, valleys, rocks, trees, streams and brightly coloured blooms. These memories, filled with wonder and beauty and an unexplainable exhilaration have never left me. Equal to that is observing the moon landing as a teenager: inspired my fascination with Space.

What would you do with $25,000?

I could do a lot with $25000. Procuring good painting materials and the ability to effectively market my work would be a distinct benefit. I would also like to be able to spend more time painting, an activity I love and cherish and one that enhances my emotional wellbeing and quality of life. With some savings, working less hours in my regular job would be a welcome opportunity. As well, I would like to be able to contribute to my grandchildren’s education and this would allow me to.
