Creating art lets me express the real me. However weird, brilliant, dirty, full of life and love, it's all me.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
Drawing with colored pencil or soft pastels, alongside music. Writing songs and singing them. Writing poetry. Those are my faves. I also love to take photos. I like to do weird art photos of myself. Sometimes it's not so pretty, but looking at it makes a person feel something. Beauty fades with time. Interesting just gets more interesting.
Where do you find inspiration? When I see a face, or the way someone is positioned, my mind automatically starts to go over it as if I were drawing it. I usually come up with a great poetry line while in the shower. No pen or paper, of course...
What would you do with $25,000?I would spend time with the unhoused here in San Diego and see what I can do to help them. That's important to me, because I was once among that population. I will never forget that time in my life. I would also buy a small RV and visit my grandkids. It would be fun to include a poetry and music tour as well. Just a few places would be cool.
