My favorite art to create is acrylic painting, using color and visual elements to create immersive designs featuring femininity, my hometown flora and fauna, metalsmithing with silver, copper, and stones for jewelry, and installation pieces that require active audience participation.
Where do you find inspiration?In my artwork, I draw inspiration from my past experiences, my cultural identity, a fond memory, or my sense of play and humor. I use different materials to create my craft, choosing the format that best expresses my idea. I aspire to create projects that help me express myself and connect with others. I like brainstorming first, writing down words, putting them into categories, and writing sentences of what I would like to convey; later, creating thumbnails and exploring different visuals.
What would you do with $25,000?Creating art has changed who I am today; it has carried me through hard times and brought me peace. Art can make a change and have a positive impact on people's mental health. I realized I want to be a source for others to find art as a healing tool, just as it did for me. I would be grateful for the opportunity to use the funds to further my artistic practice and support my education to become an Art Therapist.
