Storytelling drives my work across comics, photography, illustration, pattern design, and 3D to communicate ideas visually and creatively.

My favorite style of art to create is comics that incorporate graphic design elements, especially through the use of color and mood to shape storytelling. Over time, I became more aware of how deeply design school influenced my artwork. I also enjoy painting, photography, pattern design, and 3D art, which I see as extensions of the same visual storytelling found in comics.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration everywhere—especially in nature, pattern design, carpeting, billboards, illustrations, video games, and television. One cover from my comic series Twilight: The Battle of Spiritual Warfare was inspired by a repeating carpet pattern I noticed at a convention. Moments like that remind me inspiration can appear anywhere and become a doorway into visual storytelling.
What would you do with $25,000?With $25,000, I would pay down small debts, establish an LLC, and print additional books to expand my comic series. It would allow me to attend conventions and better showcase my artwork to wider audiences. I would also invest in producing larger canvas prints for exhibition opportunities, including museum and gallery spaces, where costs have been harder to manage since completing college.
