Art and music is my second career as I enter my 60’s to stay creative, mentally sharp, and naturally curious in the world we live and share.

I’ve always played guitar, going on 48 years currently. Drawing, though, is new for me, having only just started in the last four months by applying myself through self-education and experimentation while building up my art supplies. I have been learning by doing. It promises to be a fulfilling endeavor. Every new piece is an exploration. Most projects fail but some exceed my ability and expectations. That is the magic of it all for me and it feels great as a novice to share my works with others
Where do you find inspiration? At 61 years old, I draw upon visions I see or have experienced when I close my eyes and imagine. I may see or perceive an object where I am compelled to portray it in ink or graphite to enjoy for a longer time, or more simply, the drawing may represent my interpretation of the interactions of lines, shapes, and colors in a visually striking or unique arrangement. It all depends at that moment in time and encounter. I have much to learn and grow into and that journey is a welcome trek.
What would you do with $25,000?I would fully kit out my basic art supplies while learning how to use them for full effect, then gradually fill in with more specialized items as I hone my skills and exercise my artistic abilities. I would take the opportunity to visit art galleries and exhibitions nationally and globally, where traveling and overnight stays would be required. I would invest a portion for classes and skill improvement to better express myself on paper or whatever medium I am using or still have yet to discover.
