I get the most pleasure in making sculptures of everyday people I have photographed while walking the streets of New York and Brooklyn. I like elevating the average person into a piece of fine art that shows their true magnificence for all they have been through, by being human. My favorite art shows empathy and humor and is real. I try not to take life too seriously and want that reflected in my art.

I find inspiration in little things, like an old woman's slippers that are too big for her or a homeless man sleeping sitting up with his chin on his chest. I find inspiration in eye contact and a smile from a stranger. I find inspiration in the wagging tail of a dog. I find inspiration in the first yellow flowers of a forsythia bush when there is still snow on the ground. I find inspiration in friends who are always happy to hear from me, no matter how long we are apart.

I would get caught up on some debts I have accumulated by having an erratic artists income. I would put some money aside for a future move to another country. I would use some of the money to visit my son, who I have not seen in a few years. I would use the money to give myself a little breathing room for a few months.
