Creating art is the only thing I have ever experienced that quiets my constant cacophony of thoughts and feeds my heart. It's my purpose.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
My primary work is multi media sculptures with a heavy emphasis on glass. The subject of my work is often human or insect however i also enjoy floral and industrial forms. No matter what im creating I tend to try and make it macabre or surreal. Like insects whos bodies are made from skulls or a ball that looks like a childs toy made from severed fingers.
Where do you find inspiration? The bulk of my inspiration comes from Irish-British surrealist Francis Bacon. I find the way he seamlessly manipulates a figure into a grotesque form without it losing its quiddity inspires my creativity. I find much inspiration in the human form as well as nature for their versitily and adaptability. Just as glass is constantly moving and adapting to the heat, and pressure you put on it.
What would you do with $25,000?I would finish building my mobile glass blowing studio and travel the united states doing demonstrations at grade schools, highschools and trade fairs in order to inspires young minds in the posibilities of art. I would also be able to afford to start producing gallery work and entering them into shows.
