William Rogers

It's my form of self expression about what visually intrigues me. I love mother nature's approach to design and try to follow that.

What is your favorite type of art to create?

I love to create art based on observation from life, including landscapes, figures and animals. I often create work showing man's interaction with the environment whether in nature or in his man made surroundings or activities.

Where do you find inspiration?

I find inspiration everywhere, but particularly with figurative work. I grew up with an inherited love and experience with horses and harness racing, which I also actively pursued with my father and uncles. My daughters were also introduced to horses and have developed a love for them as well. It wasn't long after my horse involvement that I included that genre of activity in my paintings. Travel has also provided lots of inspiration as well as my participation in plein air painting festivals.

What would you do with $25,000?

I guess I would do more of the same especially traveling to paint and teach painting workshops. This passes along my artistic knowledge to others and makes me happy in sharing this. Also studying and painting with other master artists all over the world is something I love to do.
