Representational figurative oil painting, aka “please don’t make them look like a potato.” I love the slow dance of capturing a nose that actually breathes, skin that has opinions, and eyes that judge me back. It’s like playing God, but with more turpentine and fewer lightning bolts. Plus, stick figures never complain about their likeness.
Where do you find inspiration?Classical novels and history’s greatest hits—because watching Napoleon fail in 200 years of reruns never gets old. The endless loop of reincarnation means Tolstoy might be my neighbor next life. I just hope he likes oil paint.
What would you do with $25,000?I’d spend $25,000 becoming a philosophical art nomad: learn to make tea in Kyoto, argue about nothing in a Parisian café, and accidentally insult a llama in Peru. All to fuel my grand artistic theory—which will probably conclude that “more snacks” is the true meaning of life. But hey, the journey will smell like turpentine and existential joy.
