I create art to question how bodies are seen, valued, and consumed. I’m not trying to change the world. One shifted perspective is enough.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I create conceptual still-life photography that explores how the body is shaped by systems of desire and consumption. Using food and everyday objects as stand-ins, my work transforms something familiar into something unsettling—questioning how we learn to see, value, and reshape ourselves.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in everyday systems that shape how we see ourselves—advertising, social expectations, and subtle moments of comparison. Growing up, I became aware of how bodies are constantly measured, judged, and adjusted. What once felt personal, I later realized is a shared condition. I’m especially drawn to ordinary objects and food, because they carry familiarity and vulnerability. By transforming them, I explore how desire and control become internalized—often quietly, over time.
What would you do with $25,000?With $25,000, I would expand my practice into a more ambitious body of work by building complex sets, experimenting with materials, and increasing scale and precision. I would also use the support to publish and exhibit my work more widely, bringing conversations around body image and consumption to a broader audience. Most importantly, it would give me the time and space to fully focus on creating meaningful work.
