Art that starts with feelings and research and works made from the findings. Works that unpack social issues past and present. As a mixed media and interdisciplinary artist I don’t have a favorite, because each research subject/project chooses its own medium and materials. It could be clay, metal, bronze, wood. soil, salt, glass, performance, collage, text, video, music… I engage all my tools and create what’s most appropriate to tell best story that is both accessible and inclusive.

I find inspiration any and everywhere, outside and inside. I am inspired by people/ communities, nature and things. For me inspiration is plenty, but what truly speaks to me places where there are injustices and unserved communities. Places where there’s a need to amplify awareness, access and equality. I find inspiration knowing that we get a chance to plant seeds that will one day bring about changes that will improve lives.

This 25,000 would help me catch up a living expenses; studio rental, take care of my health, finish a few works, put a small amount aside. I would host a public science and arts workshop/program, during my exhibition after my win. 2025- 2026 has been financially difficult year. $25,000 would to complete one of three, arts and research projects, i currently have. I have been working to create some balance in my practice. It would secure a healthy place to work, live and continue to evolve.
