I love to create art because it allows you to be in the present moment, escape all the distractions in the world. Create a glimpse of beauty
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I love creating handmade glass tiles using fused glass powders-Sgraffito method. Depending on the piece, I may add enamel paint and frit to create a more complex layered glass tile that is illusionist and captures depth and detail on glass. I’m excited to create iconic glass tile/paintings, showcasing the beauty of glass. To showcase glass paintings that can be admired as much as some forms of traditional forms of art, such as, oil or acrylic paintings.
Where do you find inspiration? The natural world: animals from farm sanctuaries that have been given a second chance to live a better life, landscapes that are admired and adopted pets. The simple things that bring great joy to one’s life.
What would you do with $25,000?I would love to expand my studio space, make it a little more of a functioning space where I can teach students how to create various types of glass art (lampworking, fused glass, kiln forming). To bring joy to others who love to work with their hands, who love to create, who have an artistic vision and execute it. Glass is a versatile medium and by working it in high heat, the possibilities are endless.
