I like to make art because it gives me a way to express emotions, ideas, and experiences that are hard to put in words. It tells my story.

Portraits that are in the abstract realm. I create pieces with bold colors, abstract street style vibe. My pieces tend to be high energy . I often say the painting is a reflection of my time in the military, controlled chaos. In juxtapose, the portraits defy the discipline of lines. The portraits often tell parts of my life story.
Where do you find inspiration? My faith and family play a huge part. The truth is after the military, I feel free. I am inspired by people on the street, other artists and the thrill of collaboration with other artists. I am inspired by crooked lines and bright colors, anything but discipline. Art is my inspiration because no matter the genre I get a rush that makes me want to get a canvas and create.
What would you do with $25,000?I would attend art retreats/workshops. I would like to attend a workshop with Rosso Crimson in London. However, I would seek out workshops by other artists that I follow. I would also purchase art supplies and take online classes. I want to take workshops in Chicago as well. I want to push my art as far as possible by attending and collaborating with fellow artists. The cost of the workshops and travel are expensive and this award would make so many dreams possible.
