I make paintings about myth and mortality.

I enjoy creating large scale figurative paintings that function as a 2 dimensional sculpture. They are more like a totem than a window into a world. Good art is in an eternal dialogue with our history and the human experience. Art functions best when it attempts to engage with this dialogue rather than a simple monologue of the artist's vanity and idiosyncrasies.
Where do you find inspiration?I'm inspired when an image arrives to me. Something that is more than the sum of its parts. An image that functions as symbol where it must be visual rather than an idea to outline in an essay.
What would you do with $25,000?I would buy 6 suits 3 linen and 3 wool and create paintings at a even more ambitious scale.
