I create art as a form of self-expression hoping it will inspire anyone affected by cancer to create and participate in their own healing.

While I am not bound to a particular style or medium, abstract expressionism and intuitive art are a few favorites for its sheer spontaneity and emotional expression. Creating something new from found objects has excited me for its redemptive quality-giving something a new purpose that was once deemed useless. Above all, my most favorite art to create is anything that instills hope in someone and moves their soul.
Where do you find inspiration?Inspiration finds me in every facet of life—from the complexities of medicine and biology to the emotional resilience of personal cancer stories. My subconscious is deeply shaped by my Portuguese culture, translating and weaving familiar textures, colors and themes into my art. Above all, the camera has become a fundamental tool for capturing it all and translating my personal experiences and environment into powerful visual narratives.
What would you do with $25,000?I would donate to START HEALING Foundation(SHF). https://www.starthealingfoundation.org SHF’s mission is two-fold; first to provide support throughout treatment & recovery auxiliary to those with cancer, cancer survivors, caregivers & their families. Second, to support emotional healing through art & creative expression for those living with stresses due to cancer. SHF’s community role is to provide a support system & empower people affected by cancer, in their own emotional healing through art
