I love to create art because it has been the inspiration to keep my mental wellness my entire life. Art saved me and it will continue to.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
My favorite type of art to create is oil painting on canvas or wood, and of course , the original tool , the graphite pencil. I like to invoke images that represent pain, prosperity and perseverance.
Where do you find inspiration?I find my inspiration in the stories that I hear from others and their experiences. It can either be torture, or it can be wondrous or even both. Living is a lonely experience, and everybody's perspective is completely different. It's great to capture every moment that I can, even if it's not my own. I am inspired by what makes me alive...my ability to feel, to destroy, to love. There is much more to making art than just our dellusional superlative sentience and our rhetorical, baseless drivel.
What would you do with $25,000?I have a couple ideas... To either start up my entrepreneur idea to support local students in the kansas city area to get exposure to their art with a website and calling it KC+. A nonprofit organization that will be able to support students that are just as tortured and loved by their art that they create. My final option would be able to use the funds towards tuition/donation and to become an art therapist, so I can help others stay on that fine line between genius and madness.
