Learn MoreWhat is your favorite type of art to create?
Art that speaks to the soul. I like to turn hard feelings into art to inspire others to feel deeply and self reflect. There is beauty to feeling. I like to show people we are like mosaics, broken yes, but when you look at the whole picture, we are actually beautiful. Which is what my community art pieces reflect, I paint in the center and everyone adds to it. It's the most beautiful art I've ever created, and such a unique thing to witness, others being vulnerable with you.
Where do you find inspiration?
Processing different trauma and the emotions that come with it. We all experience our own forms of pain and turning pain into art helps me show the world how beautiful it can be to feel, even if those emotions hurt. We are alive. (When artist block sets it, I turn on Juice Wrld's song Righteous and it helps me get back in the creative zone, or Kid Cudi music.)
What would you do with $25,000?
Updated answer: Continue to grow my platform for advocating for mental health, become a trauma certified coach to help people reintroduce joy back into life and help them heal, and finally if there is anything left, buy a boat!! I have dreamed of sailing the world since I was a little girl. I want to show others there is another way to live, completely authentic, even when hard times hit and it makes you want to hide away. Follow your dreams no matter how small, and happy will follow.
