My favorite type of art to create is what comes forth from effort. An idea... a moment in time... some glimpse of humanity that has to be captured for all to see. My mind rolls like the hills, with valleys that I have learned to see as rich and green pastures. We only grow when we challenge ourselves. Stepping out of a comfort zone is a risk, but so is wasting life worried about yesterday and tomorrow. I create for what is now with full faith that in my actions I will serve my purpose.

I find inspiration everywhere I look! I find it most often in everyday strength. For some people it is a successful day to get out of bed and make it to the couch. For others is may be running a marathon. Strength and resilience depend on where you are in life. When I get knocked down, I get back up again. People who fight for everyday they are my inspiration. Through resilience and creativity I channel my art to speak and express myself when I cannot do so in any other way.

I would invest in a telephoto zoom lens to capture a wider range of subjects. In addition, funds will be allocated to upgrade my current studio to a higher performance photography workstation. I will assess the needs of three organizations I volunteer for to donate some of the money to them in order to support ongoing mental health resources, initiatives, and community outreach. I would also create a backyard oasis to continue to live in the moment and be inspired by mother nature.
