The creation of rich paintings drives me to get out of bed everyday. There is always an idea or sensation to absorb, dream about, and turn into a painting. I want to curate work that promotes visions, dreams of the future and past. I want viewers to not be sure if they are looking at a dream, the present, or memory yet to form.
Where do you find inspiration?Inspiration comes from everywhere, a found paper on the ground, historic figures, archaeological objects, memories, science, and old masters painters.
What would you do with $25,000?The reward money would allow me to develop my Night Creatures series and exhibit it in a major city, ideally New York or LA. I could work with a curator, hire a space, and market it. I want a fun event that draws in all types people and gets people talking. I’d have a band too, of course.
