I create to carry my ancestors’ legacy turning their strength into color, their stories into beauty, and sharing that light with others.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I create art rooted in home, culture, faith, and family each piece a reflection of where I come from and what shapes me. My ideas begin in the unseen, and I work to bring them into form with intention and clarity. Through mixed media, I layer textures, materials, and meaning, searching for the truest expression of each vision. My art is both a process and a discovery an unfolding of what lives within.
Where do you find inspiration?I draw inspiration from the people around me my students, friends, faith, and nature. Above all, my father inspires me; he taught me to dream boldly and is the artist I strive to embody. My work is rooted in lineage honoring the quiet creators of Ethiopia whose artistry lives on through me. Portfolio: https://sites.google.com/view/hananseidsportfolio/portfolio
What would you do with $25,000?I will continue creating space for students in Philadelphia to discover their creative voice—the language that speaks when words fall short. Art gave me a way to express myself before I understood English, and it became a bridge to confidence, identity, and belonging. I’m committed to offering that same freedom, power, and sense of home to every student I reach.
