What is your favorite type of art to create?

Portraits of recognizable people and science fiction characters.

Where do you find inspiration?

I have always found my inspiration from light and shadows. As a child I was inspired by my childhood comic book characters and the simplicity of how characters came to life with cross hatching and gradient shading. How using subtle techniques from just the pressure of a pen or pencil could bring depth to art. I was always drawn to black and white creations because it showed the range of color without actual colors. Now I only use Sharpie markers on canvas. One shot, One chance, No mistakes!

What would you do with $25,000?

I would invest in myself and finally put a studio together in which I could create my future one canvas at a time. I love what I do, but I don’t have the financial freedom to create. I work all the time and when I get done for the day I’m almost wiped out. I’m hoping to have a larger space to create one day. This could be the beginning to that. I hope the world can appreciate what I contribute to art.
