Laura
I've been a visual and performing artist my whole life. I'm an abstract painter and a stand-up comedian. I create art because I have to.

Where do you find inspiration?
Everywhere. Being an artist is a way of seeing the world. The play of light, line, and color are fascinating to me. I mostly create worlds of pure abstraction, so materials and process are also very important to me. As an artist I'm part mad scientist: I love to experiment with various mediums and materials. I am always pushing a medium past its limits to create news ways of making art.
What would you do with $25,000?
Open a studio classroom where I can teach art. I want to share my love of art with others. Art has saved my life many times over, and I want my art to be accessible to everyone.
