What is your favorite type of art to create?

I create visionary Haitian symbolic art as an honest expression of my identity, memory, spirituality, and political reality, using symbols like flags, crowns, drums, masks, and fire to explore Haitian history, ancestral presence, resistance, and survival. My goal is to make work that does more than depict the visible world — I want it to create a living space where beauty, struggle, hope, and unseen forces converge in a powerful, spiritually charged way.

Where do you find inspiration?

I find inspiration in memory, myth, and the lived realities that shape who I am, especially my Haitian heritage, its symbols, stories, and spiritual traditions. I’m drawn to the tension between history and the present, as well as to people, places, and emotions like resilience, struggle, faith, longing, and transformation, because I see art as a portal that can give form to the invisible and expand what life can hold.

What would you do with $25,000?

If I win the $25,000, I will invest it toward developing sustainable agriculture in Haiti and helping farmers build more stable, productive futures. I want to support practical solutions that strengthen food security, improve access to resources, and create long-term opportunities for communities that depend on the land. For me, this is about more than financial support — it is about contributing to resilience, dignity, and lasting change in Haiti.
